Privacy Policy

This policy explains how PickShow (the Site) handles personal information for product discovery, sign-in, voting and submissions. It applies to the Site, not third-party products or websites you access through it.

1. Information we process

Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name, email address, email verification status and avatar to create and identify your Site account. We do not receive your Google password.
Sign-in and security information: Session identifiers, expiration times, authorization tokens, and potentially IP addresses and browser information, to maintain sessions and protect accounts.
Interaction records: Products you support, voting times and associated account records, to show voting status, count votes and prevent duplicates.
Submitted product information: Names, URLs, categories and other product details you provide, plus submission times, review status and associated accounts, for review and display.
Operational information: Hosting and infrastructure services may process request URLs, IP addresses, browser information and error logs to deliver pages, troubleshoot and prevent abuse.

2. How information is used

We use this information to provide and maintain services, verify identity, save votes and submissions, review products, handle support requests, protect services and meet legal obligations. Public product pages do not require sign-in. Without the information needed to sign in, account features are unavailable.

3. Cookies and sign-in status

The Site uses authentication cookies to maintain sessions and protect sign-in, and a language preference cookie to remember your choice. You can delete or block cookies in your browser, which may sign you out, prevent account features or reset your language preference. Signing out does not automatically delete previous votes, submissions or account information.

The application currently does not integrate advertising trackers or third-party analytics. If technologies requiring notice or consent are introduced, we will update this information and follow applicable requirements.

4. Sharing and public information

After approval and publication, product names, links, introductions and display materials are public. Vote totals may also be public. Account emails, sign-in tokens and personal voting lists are not published as product content.

Necessary service providers may process information, including Google for sign-in and Cloudflare for request handling, databases and file storage, according to their roles and policies. We may also disclose information as necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests or protect users and services.

5. Retention and security

We retain information as needed to provide features, maintain security and meet legal obligations. Sessions expire; account details, votes and submissions may remain after sign-out. Unneeded information is deleted or anonymized according to applicable requirements. Backups and security logs may take longer to clear.

We restrict data access through access controls and encrypt third-party sign-in authorization tokens at rest. No transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices and rights

You may browse without signing in, sign out, clear browser cookies or view votes and submissions on your profile. You can also use Google’s third-party connection settings to manage or revoke the connection to the Site. Revoking Google authorization does not automatically delete data already stored by the Site.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or a copy of personal information, or restrict or object to certain processing. We may verify your identity first. Information legally required to be retained may not be deleted immediately.

7. Service locations and minors

Our service providers may process or store information outside your country or region. We take measures required by applicable rules for cross-border processing.

The Site is for general product enthusiasts and is not directed at children. Minors should use it with a guardian’s consent and guidance and should not submit unnecessary personal information.

8. Policy updates

We may update this policy when features or information handling change, showing the date here. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes and obtain consent separately where required by law.
